Farm Bureau Labor Conference
*Special VIP Breakfast

Measure your Success at the WFB annual Labor Conference. The only conference each year dedicated to the labor and employment needs of Washington’s seasonal employers.

• Top nationwide experts on agricultural issues such as healthcare, immigration, and much more.

• Preview dramatic changes in store for our state workers’ comp system – in the Legislature and at the ballot box this fall!

• A dozen breakout sessions – industry experts and agencies address the issues of concern – and the areas that agencies intend to target in the upcoming year.

Here are a just few of the general session and breakout sessions:

1. Leon Sequira – a top official at the Department of Labor in the Bush Administration, will speak about the new DOL workplace strategies.

2. Workers’ Comp – a ballot initiative will be filed this year that will allow you to purchase private workers’ comp insurance.  What should you know about it?

3. Healthcare – The latest reports from DC lobbyists working on behalf of agriculture.

4. Special agents from ICE will answer questions about workplace enforcement and what it means to seasonal employers.

5. Tim Bernasek – a top agricultural labor attorney from Portland, will provide concrete advice on labor relations issues and several other topics.

6. L&I will preview its Farm Labor Contractor Inspection Program for 2010.  If you use a farm labor contractor, you need to attend this break out session.

Hotel accommodations provided by the Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel, (adjacent to Wenatchee Convention Center). Rates are $89 single/double, plus tax. For room reservations, call the hotel directly at (509) 662-1234 and specify for Washington Farm Bureau.
